Description
Aegean Herbs – Amorgos Sage!
Sage, or alifaskia as it is called in Amorgos, has a unique aroma that awakens the senses. It is an herb that acts as a tonic for the body, due to the tannins it contains. It can be used in cooking, goes well with chicken preparations, but also as a decoction.
Sage is considered the plant of the god Zeus, the herb of immortality and we first see it depicted in 1,400 BC in a mural in the palace of Knossos. It is cultivated biodynamically in Amorgos, in the Aegiali area.
