Panettone was born in the Italian North. Although it soon conquered neighboring Switzerland with its sweetness, it still remains a symbol of the city of Milan. Its classic shape is reminiscent of something between a dome and a tiara. An imposing dessert that stands on a cylindrical base and dominates the center of the table. However, we very often find it made on an octagonal base or in the shape of a star. It is now widely distributed in individual packages, decorating the tableware of every diner.
