Description
Isle – Isle with Pistachio!
Isli is a wonderful dish originating from Pontus and the rest of Cappadocia. It was soon adopted by the Hellenistic community of Constantinople and throughout the rest of Asia Minor.
Its preparation is a ritual. It started as a Christmas dessert – like melomakarono – and during Lent. That’s why it’s made with olive oil instead of butter. It’s also a classic treat at weddings and baptisms.
The characteristic embroidery with a tweezers – especially in the past – also indicated its exact origin.
Syruped with natural sweeteners for a lighter, balanced enjoyment, without losing any of its luxury and sweetness. A traditional dessert that marries tradition with a more modern, natural approach. Vegetarian and delicious in every bite.
