Greek mythology states that the goddess Aphrodite offered oregano to a mortal to make his life better. In ancient Greece it was a symbol of joy and happiness. In Greek cuisine, oregano is the most widespread aromatic and its taste brings the most intense memories of the Greek landscape. Greek oregano is considered the best in the world. It has a strong aroma and is rich in vitamins and minerals.
Oregano has anti-diarrheal and anti-inflammatory properties. As a drink it is an excellent tonic, fights cough and strengthens the immune system. In cooking it flavors the Greek village salad, meats and soups.
Boil a small spoonful of oregano in 250 ml of water for a few minutes. Strain it and drink it hot with honey.
