Description
Beekeeper Family – Organic Pine Honey!
Pine honey comes from the honeydew secretions of the Marchalina hellenika insect. It is collected from hives located in South Halkidiki. A large percentage of the country’s total honey production comes from pine trees, which are considered very important beekeeping plants.
Pine honey has a neutral aroma and due to the low concentration of sugars it is not too sweet. Its color depends on the harvest season, spring or autumn. Because its natural glucose content is low, it crystallizes after 18-24 months.
Pine honey is considered a honey of high nutritional value because it gathers large amounts of minerals and trace elements, it is the ideal way to start one’s day. It has been characterized as a thick table honey which suits all occasions and can be enjoyed in all ways. Perfect combination for bread, croutons or yogurt, hot drinks, even plain.
